Salsa and Bachata are Latin style dances known for their sexy, partner-connected moves. In this beginner class, you will learn basic pattern combinations while paying attention to lead and follow connections. A dance partner is encouraged but not required.

Ballroom dance is a set of partner dances which have been performed around the world both socially and competitively. This dance style originated as far back as the 16th century and has continued to modernize throughout time. The 5 most popular styles of ballroom dance include the Foxtrot, Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha and Swing. Each month we will teach a different style of ballroom dance – check the class schedule for the dance style of the month.

Country Swing is a popular American partner dance which combines rapid-fire Swing moves with dips, lifts and other fun movement set to lively Country music. In the first half of class (30 minutes) we will review country swing steps and in the second half of class (30 minutes) we will teach pattern dances such as the country two-step, nightclub two-step, schottische and horseshoe. This class is open to dancers of all levels and a dance partner is encouraged but not required.

East Coast Swing is a classic rhythm dance that moves on both 6 and 8 beat patterns and is great for beginning swing dancers. Originating back in the 1940’s, this dance is an offshoot of the Foxtrot and modified from a prior original form of the Lindy Hop. With its energetic twists and turns, East Coast Swing is easily danced to a variety of music including soul, rockabilly and blues. In this class, you will develop a good understanding of the basics for this rhythm dance and begin to build a strong dancers foundation. No dance partner required.

West Coast Swing is a moderate tempo dance that originated in California and is a modification of the Lindy Hop. This partner dance is usually danced to contemporary rhythm and blues music and is danced in a “slot” or specific area of the dance floor. The dance moves have a sophisticated, smooth, sexy look and feel that are sure to impress. This class is for those dancers looking to take things up a notch and learn some new moves for the social dance floor. A dance partners is encouraged but not required.

Musicality and technique are two important aspects to building a strong dancers foundation. Dance musicality refers to how dancers hear, interpret and dance to music. Dancers should come prepared to this class with a basic knowledge of West Coast Swing and the instructor (Cody Anzelone) will educate and instruct over more patterns and techniques to take your West Coast Swing to the next level.

Blues dance is an intimate, more sensual style of dance that evolved in response to slower blues music. Blues dancing centers around interpreting the mood of the music and is open to creativity and influence from other types of dance such as Swing and the Tango. This class is open to all levels and a dance partner is encouraged but not required.

For those new to West Coast Swing, this is the perfect class for you. We will keep things simple and teach some of the basics of WCS including left side pass, right side pass, sugar push, tuck turn, whip and reverse whip. You will learn the differences between leads and follows and begin building a strong foundation for years to come. A dance partner is always encouraged but not required.

Lindy Hop originated in the late 1920’s and is a joyful, high energy dance with solid, flowing movements that closely reflect the music styles of late 20’s Jazz to the early 40’s of Big Bands. The dance styles can range from wild and spontaneous to cool and sophisticated and the most important aspect is that you enjoy yourself and have fun. Come alone or with a partner but either way, you are guaranteed to move and groove.

Our Creative Movement class for 2-4 year olds is a class where toddlers can express themselves through dance and movement. It helps them learn about their bodies and the space surrounding. This is a non-competitive, fun way for your children to use their imagination. This class will allow a maximum of 15 students per month to ensure every child receives adequate instruction and attention.
