We want everyone to have a great time when they're at class and events. These are some ways we can create a space and comfortable Space for everyone.
No coaching or teaching on the social floor. Unless you are asked for feedback specific to your interaction with a partner, hush.
No videoing or recording others unless you have their express permission.
If you don't want to dance with someone, you can say "no" and you don't need to explain. You can also stop dancing with anyone at any point.
If someone tells you no, respect the decision and ask someone else for a dance!
Don't be inappropriate. Don't use misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, ableist or racist language.
There's room for everyone on the dance floor.
We want every dancer - of every level of experience - to feel comfortable and safe at our events. We welcome everyone, regardless of gender/gender identify, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, physical appearance or employment status.
Always respect people's personal boundaries, even when they are different from yours. If someone tells you that you are making them feel uncomfortable, listen to them and respect their needs. If you accidentally touch someone inappropriately, apologize right away.
We encourage all dancers to have the choice of leading, following, or both! It's totally up to you. It's a good rule of thumb to clarify with someone which role they would like to take when you ask them to dance, to avoid confusion.
If you feel harassed or are made to feel uncomfortable, contact the event manager immediately. If you see someone who looks uncomfortable or upset, ask them if they are OK and if they need your help.
The Space reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. The Space also has the right to record and take promotional photographs. Security cameras are in use and record 24/7
